Willie Mae Thompson affectionately known as Grandma Tee, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at home surrounded by family and friends. Age 91 years. Willie Mae was born on August 4, 1918 to the union of the late Thomas and Mattie Duncan in Hollandale, MS.
Willie Mae moved to Saginaw, MI in the early fifties where she met and married Tom Thompson on August 19, 1955. To this union they were blessed with a son, the late John Lee Thompson. She joined the Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of the Pastor R.B. Austin, and was a member of the Usher Board. She enjoyed Bingo and fishing.
She leaves to cherish her memory two grandchildren, Nehmann Turner and Devica Thompson; a special niece, Delores Wilson; nephew, Robert (Barbara) Wilson; nieces, Patricia Stewart and Grace Cross; friend, Rosie Douglas; five great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Tom Thompson (1979); brother, Ernest Wilson (1997) and son, John Thompson (2003).
We would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Sylvia Hill, Adell Johnson, Gloria Brooks and Patricia, American Hospice, Physical Therapist, Nurses and Doctor.
