Willie U Jackson

Our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Willie Urial Jackson made his transition on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 80 years. Mr. Jackson was born October 1, 1931 in Gould, Arkansas to Ollie and Beatrice (Knuckles) Jackson. Mr. Jackson accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Vaughn, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Little Rock, Arkansas.
He served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in July 1954. He then moved to Saginaw, Michigan to join his family. He became a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in 1954, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and was a faithful member.
Willie was a graduate of Dunbar High School, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Coyne Electrical Institute, Chicago, Illinois. He was employed at Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry for 28 years before his retirement and a member of UAW Local #668. He was a member of the following; Past Member of H. York Harrison Lodge # 32, Past Worthy Patron of Bethel Chapter # 23, Order of the Eastern Star, Past Royal Arch Chapter # 17, Past Excellent High Priest, Past Eminent Commasory, Knight Templar, Omega Council # 30, Past Grand Royal Advisor of Heroines of Templar Crusades of the State of Michigan, and member of VFW Post 02622.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life his beloved wife of 53 years, Mrs. Margaret E. Price-Jackson; one brother, Clarence (Catherine)Jackson, Fishers, Indiana; three sisters, Lavorn Burnes, Chicago, Illinois, Judy B. Jackson, Saginaw, Michigan, and Ollie Mae (Eugene) Wright, Kalamazoo, Michigan; one aunt, Mrs. Odesser Knuckles, Racine, Wisconsin; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Edithel Jackson, Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Cleodester Jackson, Flint, Michigan; three godchildren, Eugene Wright Jr.II, Kalamzoo, Michigan, Terri R. Evans and Hilary Winchester both of Saginaw, Michigan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Beatrice Knuckles-Jackson, two daughters, Alfreda Fay and Willietta Jackson, two brothers, Theodis C. Jackson Sr., Thomas Jackson Sr.,four sisters, Margaret Jackson-Brown, Allene Jackson-Taylor, Doris Jean Jackson, and Alberta Jackson-Washington.
Willie touched the lives of many during his walk on this earth and showed to others his spirit of love, strength and concern. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Mary's of Michigan, Covenant Healthcare- Harrison 8th Floor , Covenant Michigan 3rd floor, Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, and Dr. Jehad D. Jafari.
