Wynonia Bradley was born January 31, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York. The daughter of Minnie Likely-Bradley and Lester Dye.
On January 31, 1961, Wynonia began her journey into this world. She was born to the late Mrs. Minnie Likely-Bradley and the late Lester Dye in Brooklyn, New York. Wynonia is the middle child out of 5 siblings. She departed this life pain-free on June 28, 2023. During Wynonia’s childhood, her mother returned to her hometown of Evergreen, Alabama to raise her children. Wynonia began her education in the Evergreen, Alabama school system and when she became a late teen she returned to Brooklyn, New York to finish school. Wynonia earned her food handlers’ certifications and worked in the food service industry for years. She then became a certified home health aide and worked as an HHA until an injury forced her into early retirement. Wynonia accepted Christ very early in her life, she was a member of the Holy House of Prayer for All People in Brooklyn, New York and served on the nurse’s unit for years before relocating to Lansing, Michigan. Wynonia always leaned on her faith, she loved Gospel music and would often fall asleep listening to her bible app reciting scriptures to her. Having faith in Christ helped her withstand difficult times while caring for her two young daughters while they battled Sickle Cell Disease. Wynonia was always known to show love and compassion to everyone she met, however, she did not stand for any nonsense and gave her opinion on situations whether you asked her or not and would always mention her favorite quote, “I can show you better than I can tell you”. Wynonia loved the holiday seasons, she enjoyed baking sweet potato pies and peach cobblers (those were her specialty) and loved being around family, friends, and spending time with her grandchildren who she adored so much. Wynonia is the epitome and an excellent example of a great mother, grandmother, friend, sister, and daughter.
Wynonia leaves her memories to be cherished by her three daughters, Joyce Bradley of Queens, NY, Treasha (Terell Welch) Bradley of Lansing, MI, and Shanti Stevenson of Queens, NY; three grandchildren, Ma’Kai Jefferson of Lansing, MI, Mia Joi Jackson of Queens, NY, and Amyah Bradley of Lansing, MI; siblings, Mark Bradley Jr., Joyce-Ann Bradley-Steen, both of Evergreen, AL, and Gary (Renay Marshall) Bradley of Monroeville, AL; two nephews, Deavan and Nyles Bradley; one niece, Destiny McCrary; three Godsons, Anthony, Patrick, and Jose; Goddaughter, Erica McKenley; special friends Mary Williams, Gloria Mixon, Cynthia and Stephanie Rouse, Jerline Lewis, and Phyllis Harvey Hall; and many aunts, uncles, cousins.
