Yolanda Berry-Moore

September 22, 1969 — January 23, 2022

Ms. Yolanda Eyvette Berry-Moore (Sug Sug) transitioned peacefully from the cares of this world to eternity on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Covenant Healthcare Harrison. She was born on September 22, 1969 in Bay City, Michigan to Betty Jean Anderson and Thomas Jones.

Sug Sug graduated from Bay City Central High School, Class of 1987. Yolanda then followed her passion for clothing construction and attended Bay-Arenac ISD Career Center. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and her family. She was the one to call on when you needed a bowl of homemade Banana Pudding from scratch or a laugh. Yolanda would put the needs of others before her own. She loved to video chat with her grandbabies, and she had a special bond with each one of them and her children.

She leaves to cherish loving memories three children, Darren (Brianna) Hopkins Jr., Shardanae (Arthur) Hopkins, and Vincent (CharLay) Hopkins Sr.; seven grandchildren, Darren Hopkins III, Dorian Hopkins, De’Wayne McMillan, K'Layah McMillan, Vincent Hopkins Jr., Valencia Hopkins, and Saiyr Hopkins; stepfather, Edward Anderson Sr.; two brothers, Edward (Natasha) Anderson, Jr.,  Ira (Tammy) Anderson; one sister, Yasmine Anderson; one niece, Sierra Anderson, three nephews, Tavian, Keion, and Braylen Anderson; a host of other family and friends who were dear to her heart; she also leaves three cousins with whom she had a special bond, Brenda Brown, Sharcel Boynton, and Minister Felisa Smith-Carney; and great-niece, Amoura (Dora) Wilson.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jean Anderson; grandmother, Novella Jiles; uncles, Ira Jiles and Jim Jiles.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Covenant Healthcare Harrison, Samaritas Senior Living of Saginaw, Hoyt Nursing and Rehab, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
